You’re braver than you believe and stronger and smarter than you think.
Kate grew up in the Stillwater area, attended Stillwater Area High School and now lives in Cottage Grove with her husband and three wonderful children. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, MN. She worked as an account manager for ten years at a small technology company in Stillwater before returning to her computer nerd roots. She currently works as a Systems Analyst for the incentives division of Blackhawk Network and is fortunate enough to be able to work from home full time.
Kate enjoys cooking for her hungry family, going to the movies with her husband, Peter, and curling up with a good book.
Artspoke is a program unlike any other available in the river valley. Kate strongly believes not only is the program deeply intentional in the activities that are chosen, but the opportunities it provides give the participants experiences that will last a lifetime. How often do you get to be a chef, photographer, engineer and artist all in the same week? Having been a part of the inaugural summer of Artspoke, Kate experienced first hand the sense of community and belonging each crew was able to develop in such a short time. In a society where kids are usually just trying to fit-in, ArtSpoke is a place for them to be accepted by truly being themselves.
When not being the CEO of their household and a working mom of three busy kids, Kate is the co-leader for the children and youth program - Kids for Christ (K4C) - at First Presbyterian Church in Stillwater. She also teaches the 7th and 8th grade class for K4C each week.
